Background Information:
     -  Special radial chromatography utilizes a round paper disk instead of a strip.
     -  When placing a slit in the center of the disk and inserting a paper wick the solvent will
         seep outward through the paper.
     -  Different inks wil separate out in a radial pattern.

Your Challenge:  1.  Duplicate the patterns of A-E
                       2.  Decide whihc pens where used for each mark
                       3.  Only use the materials supplied
                       4.  All patterns began as illustrated in ______
                       5.  Two samples ere created with two markers
                       6.  Three samples were created with three markers
                       7.  Both dots and curves may have been produced by any combination.

Chromatography Challenge
Step 1. a round paper filter disk, paper towel wick, and scissors were gathered.
Step 2. A slit was made in the center of a disk.
Step 3. The center mark was made using one of the markers.
Step 4. The curved lines that radiate outward were drawn around the center using a various combinations of markers.
Step 5. The wick was placed so that a portion was on either side of the slit.
Step 6. Water was added to a petri dish, filling it 3/4 full.
Step 7. The paper disk and wick assembly was placed on top of the petri dish.
Step 8. The set up was set to run.
