Partner:

Objective:  To isolate and remove the DNA from strawberries.

Background Info:

  -  Soap can disrupt phospholipid bilayers in cell and nuclear membranes.

    -  Enzymes, such as those found in meat tenderizer, will cut proteins into smaller sections, allowing the DNA to unwind.

    - Chilled alcohol is a perfect substance in which DNA will precipitate in.

    -  When DNA precipitates it forms white clumpls of strands.

Materials:
                         detergent                            Ice                                       funnel

                          enzymes                             pipet                                    test tube

alcohol                                snack size baggies           test tube rack

Methods:

Results:  Simply write what you got for data in your data table. Identify any quantity differences in terms of

percentages/trends. Use in-text citations to cite each table/graph etc. (e.g., (table 1).) Make sure the citation is within the

sentence.

Conclusion:
The results of this experiment support/do not support (pick one) the original hypothesis.  Give your input

about why you think you got the results you did. Add any other input you have. State the the scientific significance of the lab.

Include shortcomings of the experiment (what you would do differently next time). End with

suggesting a further study.
